SHAWNA EWING,
 M.ED.,LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a heart for helping children and adolescents grow strong emotional roots for a lifetime of resilience. I primarily work with ages 3–18, supporting them in recognizing, understanding, and regulating their emotions while building confidence, coping skills, and self-worth.Before becoming a counselor, I spent 14 years in Edmond Public Schools as a special education teacher and school counselor, working closely with children of all abilities. My professional journey is also deeply personal — as a parent to a child with autism and an intellectual disability, I understand the challenges and joys that come with unique needs. That experience ignited my passion for walking alongside children and families through emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges.I am trained in EMDR and integrate play therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and a client-centered approach to create a safe, encouraging space for healing. Many days, I’m joined in sessions by Lulu, my certified therapy dog, whose gentle presence brings comfort and connection to the counseling room.My goal is to help every child I work with feel seen, heard, and empowered — because healthy roots are the beginning of a secure lifetime.Contact: 405-395-7502

Life can feel heavy: whether it’s past trauma showing up in the present, anxiety that won’t quiet down, or grief that lingers longer than expected. You may feel stuck, exhausted, or disconnected from the people you love. My approach is warm and compassionate, yet also direct and honest. I don’t believe in surface-level “band-aid” fixes; I want to help you reach the root of what’s really going on. In a safe, supportive space, we’ll uncover old patterns, tend to the parts of you that feel hidden or hurt, and begin rebuilding your sense of safety, confidence, and hope from the inside out.I tailor therapy to each client, drawing from evidence-based practices such as EMDR, CBT, and IFS. I also believe in a holistic approach: integrating mind, body, and spirit. If faith is important to you, we can bring that into the process in a way that strengthens and encourages you. If not, our work will always focus on what matters most to you.Beginning therapy is a brave step, and finding the right fit is important. If you’re ready for deeper healing and growth, I’d be honored to walk with you. Together, we’ll create space to reconnect with yourself, uncover strength, heal past wounds, and move toward a more balanced, peaceful, and fulfilling life.Contact: 405-463-4632
